Once again were staying in Australia for this amazing park. Kakadu National park is home to hundreds of species of animals such as Fresh and Salt water crocodiles, wallabies, kangaroos, and blacked necked storks. These are all species we don't see throughout the united states. Any of these animals would be amazing for us to see since we can't without going oversees. Along with all of these animals there are remarkable things to see such as Jim Jim Falls which drops about 660 feet into a pond. One of the most amazing things and the main reason I chose this park is because of the many cave and rock paintings throughout certain areas. This drawings are beautiful and have lasted for such long amounts of time I believe that it is something everyone should see. Each of the paintings tell different stories about hunting, religion, and magic. I think it would be amazing to hear what each of these stories mean and get to see these paintings thought Kakadu National Park.Thursday, April 28, 2016

Kakadu National Park
This is the last week of our blog which means we are traveling one last time and were going to Australia. I wanted to pick a place that would stand out to everyone reading this blog. Kakadu National Park is located in the northern part of Australia and the park is about half the size of the country of Switzerland. The climate of this area is very hot since it is extremely close to the equator. Kakadu actually goes through monsoon seasons which means that it has wet and dry seasons. Recently the park is having issues with invasive species destroying the habitats for the animals that have been there forever. Lastly the park is home to many large rivers and with that beautiful waterfalls all around the park. Later this week we will talk about tall the different animals you will see and things you can do while at the park.

Kruger National Park (Continued)
Continuing with Kruger National Park the reason I chose to write about this area is because of the many animals large and small that live in this area. The biggest of animals live in this area. For example the African Lion, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, African Leopard, and White and Black Rhinos live in this area. Those are some of the biggest creatures you can see in this park. It is a very good thing that there are protected areas for these animals. The parks climate is very hot and reaches over 100 degrees on some days. The vegetation is very bare with throned bushed and trees. One of the biggest problems with this park is the poaching of these animals. Rhino horns are one of the biggest problems. These animals are down to about 350 left because of the killing for their horns. This is very important that they continue to try and defend these animals. This park would be an awesome one to visit because of the variety of camps, restaurants, and various safari tours that one could go to or on while visiting this area.

Kruger National Park
This week we are going to take a long trip overseas to see one of the biggest game national parks in South Africa. Kruger National Park Is located in the North Eastern part of South Africa by Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The park stretches just over 7,500 square miles which shows that it is one of the biggest parks we have even talked about through this blog. The park has many protected areas that help with wildlife preservation. It was South Africa's first national park and it has be for close to one hundred years. The park has many different camps that one could visit while visiting the park. One of the main tourism attractions are the animals and habitats you see when you visit this park which we will talk about later this week.

After overlooking at my blog I
decided I no longer wanted to use the font I was using because I feel as though it is very unprofessional. I m sitting in class thinking about how I needed to change it because it makes my blog look as if a child wrote it. I am changing the font for the rest of my blogs to Times New Roman. This is what is used in all research paper and it is the traditional font use. It is very clean and that is the way I want my blog to look.

While working on my website project for my Interactive Multimedia class I was sitting next to a friend of mine when I looked at the sticker on his laptop. It was a red Zumiez sticker right next to his mouse pad and it made me think about how the titles stood out from everything else. Why did I notice that sticker before I
noticed anything else? I kept looking at it and then I realized that I loved how the writing looked. It stands out but it also shows the style of things I would use to represent myself. It made me decide to try and find a font like it to represent myself. This sticker made me want to change my font of my blog. I think it makes my blog look as if it is more friendly and inviting. Maybe it will make more people want to read it.

Deforestation
Deforestation is one of the biggest problems when thinking about how we are killing animals environments and it needs to be stopped. Each day millions of trees are destroyed and habitats are lost. According to the WWF they say that over 48 football fields worth of trees are lost to deforestation every minute. Thats easily over ten miles of forests gone every single minute. When we are cutting down these trees we are increasing the amount of greenhouse gases, were ruining water cycles, and ruining the animals environment. This is causing some of the affected animals to start to come into towns and places that humans live. Unfortunately since there isn't too much we can do, we do the best with what we can, many organizations are creating different ways to save these areas and having protected areas in the forests. One way we can help is to spread awareness to the people around us about this issue and maybe we can bring it more to light and how harmful it is for us and the animals environments. If we don't stop it soon thousands of animals and possibly their species may disappear within the near future.

Source of Inspiration
One of the hardest classes I'm taking this semester is environmental biology. While sitting in class we are learning about the forests and many different aspects to wildlife. One thing I'm noticing is that we rarely speak about the dangers to losing the plants and animals we currently have. We don't talk about preservation of the wildlife and what we can do to help our environment for the better. I think in a class like this it should help us to learn about things like deforestation, climate change and many other things such as poaching. We don't learn much about how to help, change, or stop any of those things, I think that is very important and we should be learning about it. So for one of my next blog posts I'm going to talk about ways to prevent a few of these things.

As I'm sitting here in the computer lab just finishing up a project I've been looking around at all of the empty seats. The thing that has been standing out to me since I sat was that every computer in this room is displaying the same colorful screen saver that has lights and as they flow they change colors. Remembering that I have a blog due I realized something. I could change some of the things on my blog to be more eye catching and colorful. Since my blog doesn't have a ton of color I think this is something I could easily improve on. So for a start I decided to change the color of most of my titles to green. I will keep changing colors and things in my blog as time goes on but for now the screen savers on these computer made me think about the blandness of my blog.

Early this week I was just hanging
out around my apartment getting my week ready and was putting everything in my
planner for the last month we have of school. As I had just finished, I was
putting the books and laptop in my backpack when I realized that on the front
of my backpack there was a Burton Snowboards logo that I had seen before but
never really looked at. The logo on the backpack had a mountain in it and made me
think about what I could incorporate to my blog. I thought about how plain my blog
is and it should contain more picture and such because the blog is about different
national parks. It is almost an adventure blog so it gave me the idea to change
around my blog. I decided to change the boring template of my blog to give it
more of an adventure vibe. Since there has been wooded areas or forests in each
of my posts I decided to change the background of the blog to the wooded forest
it has now. I think this has helped my blog to look more professional as well
as given it my idea.Thursday, March 24, 2016
Iguazu Natioanal Park (Continued)
As we talked about earlier this week the Iguazu National park is home to beautiful waterfalls and a large rainforest. I think everyone should visit this park because it is on of my goals and easily my favorite park we have discussed in this Blog. There are many different places along the 2700 meter waterfall that you can go to take pictures and capture the beautiful views. Since there are multiple ways and towns to get to the park it has a higher tourist attraction than it would if there was only one way to get there. Different places offer helicopter rides over the park to view and see more waterfalls and if you are lucky some of the wildlife. Aside from the views of the water falls there are busses that can be driven into around the park in which passengers might see more of the animals on the way to the falls as well as being able to zip line through the forest. Some animals one might see are the spotted jaguars, different types of monkeys and even toucans. With the park having so many different types of species of animals as well as so many different plants it makes this park on that I think everyone should go to in their lifetime. Iguazu National Park (Agentina)
Iguazu National Park is located on the border of Argentina, and Brazil in the middle of the South American continent. The reason I find this park so intriguing and the reason I believe it is so important to visit is because of the variety it has. The park's waterfalls alone are up to 2700 meters long and over 70 meters high. Aside from that the national park is surrounded by a tropical rainforest containing a vast amount of different species of animals as well as plants. The park is protected by the Argentine government and they attempt to project the destruction of and help conservation of species.

Hawai'i Volcano National Park (Continued)
Hawaii Volcano National Park is definitely one park that I think everyone needs to see. The massive volcanos would be something amazing for anyone to see. Something really interesting you could see at this park other than these gigantic volcanoes happened when it erupted in 1790. Unfortunately a large group of warriors were killed by the eruption and many of them actually left footprints that you can see today on the ground. Since there are these large volcanoes one of the major attractions is hiking around and on them to get better views of them. You can sign up and go on tours with a tour guide and see everything. Like discussed in the last post there is at least one hotel you can stay at on the premises and many more located outside. Lastly the endangered Honu or Green Seaturtle is sometimes seen on the beach and is something that can be seen on rare occasion when visiting. This is definitely a park I have to see.Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park
This weeks national park is a very different one than any we have talked about previously. Hawaii Volcanoes national park has two different volcanoes, Kīlauea and Mauna Loa. The park is over 500 square miles of land became its own park in the 1960's. Mauna Loa is the worlds largest and most active volcano in the entire world. The volcano is almost 4 miles high. The park started seeing tourists after two business men built hotels for people to visit and mad the volcanoes a huge icon and sight for people to see. The two volcanoes are over 70 miles long and 30 miles wide. That means this volcano is larger than the four smallest countries in the world even if they were all combined into one. The most recent explosion from either of these volcanoes was in March of 2008 and luckily it was a very small explosion. When your visiting this park be careful not to get too close just in case one of them does erupt!

Basaseachic Falls (Continued)
There are a million reasons as to why it would be a great idea to visit this park. First of all just like in the last post it has the second biggest waterfall with stunning views as you can see from the picture we posted in the last blog. The views you would see at this park are a product of thousands of years of erosion and movement with tectonic plates. When you do take my advice and visit this place make sure you bring changes of clothes because of the temperatures. Basaseachic falls has many different animal species such as the Mexican Fox Squirrel, Black Tailed Rattlesnake, and Mountain Lions. The things that makes this park so great are the views from years of erosion, the many different animal species and the massive waterfall.Tuesday, March 1, 2016
Basaseachic Falls National Park
This week we will be taking a trip down to Basasea
chic Falls a national park located in Mexico specifically in Chihuahua. This park is home to the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountain Range, this mountain range has very deep valleys because of water constantly cutting through the mountains over thousands of years. Due to the deep valleys there is a large amount of fluctuation between climate in the park. Basaseachic Falls is also home to the second largest waterfall in all of Mexico.

Banff National Park (Continued)
Referring to my last post we are once again visiting Banff National Park. This time we will be talking about the various things one might see while at the park. If you were to be visiting this national park it should be known that over half of the park is surrounded by trees while about a quarter of the park is above the tree line. Also a smaller portion of the park is covered by glaciers. The park is home to over fifty different animal species. For example there are grizzly and black bears in the lower regions of the park. They are also accompanied by different wolves, cougars, and a few different types of deer as well as elk. With there being such a large amount of animals it is obvious that going to the park it wold be hard to miss some of them. There are many different reasons as to why you should visit Banff. It is home to many different attractions such as the different ski resorts, and many trails throughout the park. A pass is required at some parts of the park so be careful and make sure you have it if you are going to visit. This is one of the many beautiful parks I'm going to write about that you should look into.
Banff National Park
This week we will be talking about Banff National Park which is located in the Canadian region of the rocky mountains. It is the oldest park in all of Canada being that it was established in 1885. The park is home to many different features and laces to see such as Lake Louise which is 9.3 mile lake with beautiful views of mountain tops and many different amazing views. Along with the lake another main feature that should be visited is the Icefields Parkway because it helps to connect the different water ways throughout the park.

Yosemite National Park Pt. 2

For the second post of this week we take a look back at
Yosemite national park once again and we will be looking at the features someone visiting the park might see. Yosemite national park is very rocky and mountainous because of this the park is home to some of the biggest waterfalls in the United States. For example Yosemite Falls is the largest waterfall in the country at almost 2,500 feet tall. Also located in the park is Ribbon Falls that has the highest water drop in the country just over 1,500 feet. Along with the beautiful sites of waterfalls and mountains the wildlife seen around the area is just another one of the amazing attractions. This park is home to many different animals such as black bears, bobcats and coyotes. There are many more but the higher in elevation the less animals are there. More toward the higher elevation one might see the great grey owl or some reptiles on the ground such as a western fence lizard. There are so many more species of animals in Yosemite national park but these are some of the more prominent animals and bigger animals around the area.

Yosemite National Park
For my first post I decided to pick a notable park in the United States. Yosemite National park is located in Northern California and runs through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Park spans an area of almost 750 thousand acres. Though being this big most of the human activity is in Yosemite Valley. Since being established in October of 1890 the park has been taken care of by the National Park Service. The park does not have a cost to go into although it would cost money for different tours and things of that sort. Its one of the biggest parks in the United States and is home to many waterfalls. The region is very mountainous which is the reason it has so many waterfalls.

What is this Blog?
This blog is going to be a weekly blog with two posts per week about something I love; the outdoors. I will be posting about national parks I find around the world. The first post of the week will be about the park's location and brief background information of the park. The second post of the week will be about the wildlife found in the park. It will also contain information about what there is to do in the park if someone were visiting it.
