Yosemite National Park Pt. 2

For the second post of this week we take a look back at Yosemite national park once again and we will be looking at the features someone visiting the park might see. Yosemite national park is very rocky and mountainous because of this the park is home to some of the biggest waterfalls in the United States. For example Yosemite Falls is the largest waterfall in the country at almost 2,500 feet tall. Also located in the park is Ribbon Falls that has the highest water drop in the country just over 1,500 feet. Along with the beautiful sites of waterfalls and mountains the wildlife seen around the area is just another one of the amazing attractions. This park is home to many different animals such as black bears, bobcats and coyotes. There are many more but the higher in elevation the less animals are there. More toward the higher elevation one might see the great grey owl or some reptiles on the ground such as a western fence lizard. There are so many more species of animals in Yosemite national park but these are some of the more prominent animals and bigger animals around the area.

Yosemite National Park

For my first post I decided to pick a notable park in the United States. Yosemite National park is located in Northern California and runs through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Park spans an area of almost 750 thousand acres. Though being this big most of the human activity is in Yosemite Valley. Since being established in October of 1890 the park has been taken care of by the National Park Service. The park does not have a cost to go into although it would cost money for different tours and things of that sort. Its one of the biggest parks in the United States and is home to many waterfalls. The region is very mountainous which is the reason it has so many waterfalls.

What is this Blog?

This blog is going to be a weekly blog with two posts per week about something I love; the outdoors. I will be posting about national parks I find around the world. The first post of the week will be about the park's location and brief background information of the park. The second post of the week will be about the wildlife found in the park. It will also contain information about what there is to do in the park if someone were visiting it.
